CASUAL FLING- ORIGINAL NEW MUSICAL- work in progress,
Lyrics and Music: Rosalyn Miller
Sunday night. Time to snuggle up on the sofa with cup of tea, watch telly and relax. But not for Carly. She's on the hunt for a soul mate. She's off to North London's premiere speed-dating event. She hopes that this night is different from every other night- she'll finally meet someone. Someone lovely, someone kind. Someone who's tall and good looking and not gay. Someone who has a job. And, of course, to make her mother happy- someone who's Jewish.
Having just turned thirty and been dumped by her boyfriend Josh, Carly feels time is running out and the pressure to settle down and get married is enormous, especially from her mother Esther. She is joined for the evening by her best mate Nicola, who’s there for moral support but would be perfectly happy getting a meaningless shag out of the event. Along the way they meet Priya who has arrived on the wrong night looking for Gudjrati dating but has been persuaded to masquerade as an Ethiopian Jew.
When Carly finds that her ex is also at the event, the evening takes a turn for the worse and she is forced to confront the choices she’s made and finally discover what’s truly important.
With a contemporary pop score “Casual fling” is an original British modern romantic comedy about looking for love and ultimately finding yourself.
Rosalyn is hard at work writing draft one of this show and will be posting news, updates, songs, videos et.c
